Ads on streaming services are becoming the new normal.
Many premium services now offer more expensive plans to bypass ads. 40% of all subscriptions services offer ads.
This adds up to about 100 million ad plan subscriptions, not including Amazon Prime Video.
Three-fourths of all streaming customers have tried at least one ad-supported plan in the last four years, and only 14% choose only subscriptions with no ads.

- The Trade Desks Advertorial New Opportunity
Trade desk announced a new integration with startup Shopsense AI to bring sponsored product ads to publisher content across the open internet.
The Trade Desk’s OpenPath supply integration, lets advertisers place shoppable product listings directly next to relevant editorial content – like a Nike show ad beside a marathon training article or a cookware link under a recipe video.
This is done across omni-channel platforms like CTV, web, and audio into shoppable media placements.
- Black Friday: A Predictor for Christmas Buying?
For 2024, searches for ‘Black Friday’ started steadily rising at the end of September and peaked on October 30th. That’s about a week earlier than 2023.
Why? Consumers were wanting the shopping to begin and hunting for deals earlier than years before. This could happen this Christmas as well.
- Cyber Week: Discounting
Average discounts during Cyber Week will reach 29%.
Some are saying the discounts are likely to be deeper. For example, apparel (37%) and beauty (35%).
The smart strategy will be to strengthen the CTA and offer, use bundles, loyalty perks, special discounts (such as seniors) or free shipping, so you’re not relying only on heavy discounts to compete.
