blackout
Because of the upcoming election, the safest thing to do is make sure none of your marketing hits the consumer from October 4th to November 8th.
Three things happen during those dates:

  1. Costs go up on most media, including TV and video.
  2. The political clutter drowns out your advertising as the prospect is overwhelmed on Google, email, Facebook, and direct mail.
  3. The prospect is distracted by the political climate.

For mail, don’t drop after September 25th.
For other media, stop or slow down on October 4th, and start up again on November 8th.
