An AI-generated video saying a new charging port on the upcoming iPhone 18 wrongfully accused Apple of ending use of its universal USB-C port to make more money. Apple’s iPhone 18 will be released in September 2026.
The deepfake AI generated video went viral.
The original video generated 16.8 million views and 760,900 likes.
Individual accounts spread like wildfire. “Apple really tryna money grab with the iPhone 18 new charger,” said one TikTok account. The video received 2.1 million views and 83,700 likes.
Another generated 4.5 million views and 414,600 likes.
Meta: Involvement in 2026 Elections?
Meta is donating to candidates, primarily through multiple PACs.
For example, California-based tech giant Meta, has at least four super PACs funded with about $65 million.
