1) Christian films are booming

Faith-based Christian films have become big hits, and Angel Studios is responsible for producing many of those hits.

They raise capital for their films through crowdfunding campaigns, enabling them to fund numerous successful film and TV projects, including the blockbuster movie Sound of Freedom, released in 2023.

The movie was based on a true story about a federal employee who quits his job to rescue human trafficking victims. The movie grossed over $250 million at the box office worldwide.

One of Angel Studio’s most recent projects is Bonhoeffer, which my wife and I saw… We highly recommend it.

Angel Studios makes highly professional A-list-quality movies with excellent writing, directing, acting, and cinematography… quality you don’t see in most independent movies.

Angel Studios is also well known for creating the TV series The Chosen, which is about the life of Jesus Christ. The series began in 2019, although the studio no longer has a relationship with it.

Angel Studios has had 6 out of 7 films gross over $10 million. Compared to independent studio Lionsgate, which had only 45% of its films make over $10 million this year, and A24, which had only 18% make over $10 million, Angel Studios has proven to be the little independent film production company that could.

2) You will soon be able to invest in Angel Studios

Angel Studios is about to become a publicly traded company. They are known for producing and distributing popular Christian faith-based movies and TV programs.

Angel Studios will go public sometime in early 2025, through a merger valued at $1.6 billion.

Earnings:

Angel Studios earned more than $200 million in revenue last year through content licensing, merchandise sales, theatrical releases, and guild memberships.

e-commerce – DVD sales:

Significant revenue coming from their content, particularly “The Chosen” series, which has generated over $280 million in revenue through DVD sales and other channels as of May 2024.

3) The model for success – Database Marketing.

Angel Studios has mastered database marketing— part of the secret to their success.

Their marketing base of donors, the Angel Guild, has over 300,000 members. Each member pays $20 a month or $179 a year. Members can vote on the movies and TV shows on Angel Studios’ slate of projects that they would like to see made. The projects with the most votes go into production.

Guild members get 2 free tickets to every Angel Studio movie release that they can use or give away. Members also get 20% discounts on the production company’s online e-commerce store.
