It’s not Black Friday, despite the general wisdom.
It’s actually “Single’s Day”, which takes place on November 11.
Never heard of it?
Single’s Day started out as an anti-Valentine’s Day of sorts in China during the 1990’s.

In a 24-hour period, the day ended up generating $14.3 billion in China, compared to the combined total of $7.54 billion on Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday in America.
Single’s Day is a singular opportunity to make big money, and American companies are starting to pay attention.
Macy’s and Costco are opening up virtual reality shopping features on that day. Shoppers can purchase goods through Alibaba on Single’s Day, too, with the following companies:

  • Target
  • Apple
  • Dell
  • Sketchers
