When you have images in your emails, be sure to use descriptive “alt tags.”
An alt tag is a word or phrase attached to an image in your digital marketing material — such as email.
If the original image can’t be displayed in your email, your recipients will see your alt tag instead.
Tagging the image as “small left-hand photo” or “big blue box” won’t be of any use to the reader.
But a tag that reads “Click to here to order at [URL]” will. Be descriptive and use direct response copy — and keep SEO in mind.
