Here’s a test that can help you increase your online orders.
In this test, a website was able to recover abandoned shopping carts by using a mechanism that retrieved email addresses.
If a potential customer did not complete the sale, an email follow-up message asking why they did not complete the purchase is sent in the hopes of resolving any problems.
This was tested against doing nothing once the shopping cart was abandoned.
The results:

  1. Before shopping cart recovery – 0.49% conversion rate.
  2. After shopping cart recovery – 0.73% conversion rate.

This test indicates that by recovering the shopping cart, the online shoppers completed the process when presented with a second chance to make it.
