Here are three copy secrets to improve profitability:
- Create a special feeling. Use phrases like “exclusive offer,” “by invitation only” and “limited edition” to give your reader an extra-special feeling.
- Use intrigue and curiosity. Try using “Do not bend” or “Do not destroy without opening” as an outside envelope teaser for a direct mail piece. Your job is always to get someone to open the envelope – and these tactics work.
- Give a freebie. Use a headline, subhead or teaser that offers the reader a free sample or free trial. For example, snapfish.com recently used: “Glad you’re back – get 20 FREE 4×6 prints with your next upload.”
