We did a 3-way test to see what worked best:

List “A” = Old opens of competitors (1 year ago)

List “B” = New opens (last 6 months opens)

List “C” = Prospects (last 6 months)

Results?

A…16.64% opens/7.57% click-thru

B…45.33% opens/7.71% click-thru

C…0.97% open/11.32% click-thru

 

Lesson: Think of creative ways to send special and more frequent emails to “open” emails from the past.
